Behind the Lens
Thank you for your interest in my photography. This project is driven by a simple goal: to inspire viewers to look a little more closely at the world—to see it through my lens and experience a different perspective.
I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was an avid amateur who studied the portraiture and lighting of Yousuf Karsh, and my mother has always had a gift for creating striking images. I began taking photography classes in middle school, which eventually led me to study photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
My curiosity about how technology shapes images grew alongside my creative work, and I pursued a career in printing technology. I earned a Master of Science from RIT and went on to work in research and development, marketing, and market research. Over time, I became a trend watcher and consultant, focusing on emerging digital printing technologies for the commercial printing and photography industries.
Shooting from a Different Angle
I returned to photography when the Apple iPhone was introduced. While I had always owned cameras, the iPhone sparked a new creative chapter. I began creating abstract, minimalist images—compositions that reveal just enough to suggest a subject, while leaving room for interpretation.
More recently, I’ve embraced high-resolution mirrorless cameras, applying that same minimalist approach across a wider range of work, from macro and landscapes to more conceptual images.
